VIII Pan American Surf Championships to Be Held at El Rosario
The Pan American Surf Association (PASA) officially announces Guatemala as host of the 18th edition of the PASA Pan American Surf Games, to be branded as the “2025 Pan American Surf Festival PASA Games”. The competition will take place from July 3-13, 2025 at El Rosario surf breaks, Santa Rosa, in front of the Maya Jade Hotel.
This prestigious event is made possible through the sponsorship of the Monterrico Hotel Zone and the Municipal Government of Taxisco, Santa Rosa, with additional support from the Confederación Deportiva Autónoma de Guatemala, the Guatemalan Olympic Committee and the Guatemalan Surf Association.
The 2025 Pan American Surf Festival PASA Games will gather national teams from PASA member countries to compete across five disciplines:
- Shortboard (Men’s & Women’s)
- Longboard (Men’s & Women’s)
- SUP Surf (Men’s & Women’s)
- SUP Technical Race (Men’s & Women’s)
- Bodyboard (Men’s & Women’s)
The tournament expects participation from over 20 PASA member nations, including surfing powerhouses such as Brazil, Peru, Costa Rica, and the United States.
Serving as a key preparatory event, the 2025 Festival will help athletes train for the XII Central American Sports Games, scheduled for October 2025 in Guatemala – solidifying the country’s position as the continental hub for competitive surfing.
Guatemala’s selection as host reinforces its growing reputation as an emerging surf destination. The event will attract athletes, media, and enthusiasts, generating significant positive impact for the local economy. Santa Rosa’s pristine beaches, celebrated for their consistent waves and natural beauty, provide the ideal setting for this premier sporting festival.
