Cosoleto and Calmon repeat their Championships at the #2023PASG

  • Lucia Cosoleto from Argentina and Chloé Calmon from Brazil succesfully defend their 2022 titles
  • Men’s SUP Surf and Longboard semifinalist were defined today
  • Brazil leads the ranking, followed by Peru and Argentina

More Pan American Champions were defined today, Friday April 28, after the finals of Women’s Longboard and Women’s SUP Surf.

Argentina’s Lucia Cosoleto, current ISA World Champion and 2022 Pan American Champion managed to defend her title, and took the Gold in the final against Silver Medalist Vania Torres from Peru, Bronce Medalist Aline Adisaka from Brazil and Copper Medalist Brissa Malaga also from Peru.

The argentinean had a slow start but her last two waves gave her the score needed to take the Gold. Cosoleto scored a total of 10.87 points, Torres scored 8.80, Adisaka had 8.77 and Malaga 2.40.

Cosoleto said: “I’m so happy that I just can’t believe it. I remained calm because I already qualified to Santiago 2023 through the ISA World Championship, but my goal here was to defend my title. I’m happy to achieve this and really motivated to go to Chile and wear my uniform.”

Women’s SUP Surf Final Standings:

  • Lucía Cosoleto (Argentina) – Gold Medal
  • Plata Vania Torres (Peru) – Silver Medal
  • Aline Adisaka (Brazil) – Bronze Medal
  • Brissa Málaga (Peru) – Copper Medal

Brazil’s Chloe Calmon also repeated her feat from 2022 as she was crowned toda as the 2023 Pan American Women’s Longboard Champion.

Despite the difficult conditions at the end of the day, Calmon used her expertise to perform gracefull manouvers that finally gave her the title in the final against Olivia Stokes from Canada, Lía Reyes Díaz from Costa Rica and Sindy Portillo from El Salvador.

Calmon said, “I just followed my strategy and it made me take the Gold. My next objective is Santiago, but first I have to focus on the ISA Longboard Championship in El Salvador.”

Women’s Longboard Final Standings

  • Chloé Calmon (Brazil) – Gold Medal
  • Olivia Stokes (Canada) – Silver Medal
  • Roan Lía Reyes Díaz (Costa Rica) – Bronze Medal
  • Sindy Portillo (El Salvador) – Copper Medal

After this 7th day of competition, Brazil is leading the Team Rankings, followed by Peru and Argentina. Canada sits in fourth place.

Competition resumes tomorrow, Saturday April 29, at 7:00 am (Panama time), and more champions will be crowned in Men’s Longboard and Men’s SUP Surf, as only two days remain to finish the event.
