Top athletes fell out of competition
Tomorrow, Friday April 28, we will be crowning the Women’s SUP Surf and Longboard Champions
With high temperatures both inside and outside the water, the sixth day of the Pan American Surf Association’s 2023 Panama Pan American Surfing Games went underway, narrowing even more the competitors rooster, as we get close to the final day of the event.
Top athletes Miguel Tudela from Peru, Manuel Selman from Chile and Giogio Gómez from Colombia, among others were eliminated today, showing the high level competition in the ever-changing wave and weather conditions of Santa Catalina.
Today’s top athletes were Lima 2019 Medalist Julian Schweizer from Uruguay in Men’s Longboard; 2018 ISA Silver Medalist Jean Carlos Gonzalez from Panama in Men’s Shortboard and Lucia Cosoleto from Argentina, current World and Pan American SUP Surf Champion.
Schweizer scored a total of 16.84 in his Round 2 Heat, against Amado de Jesus Alvarado from El Salvador who advanced second with 11.10 pts. Jose Loor from Ecuador and Kai St. George from Barbados finished third and fourth, saying goodbye to the event.
