Playa Rosario, renowned for its natural beauty and consistent waves, is preparing to welcome the continent’s best surfers in the Shortboard, Longboard, SUP Surf, SUP Technical Race, and Bodyboard disciplines, for both men’s and women’s categories with equal slots. The hotel infrastructure of the Monterrico Beach Zone and its surroundings is fully prepared to accommodate all national delegations, ensuring a comfortable stay and facilitating the event’s logistics.

This 2025 Pan American Surf Festival holds significant strategic importance as it perfectly aligns with PASA’s primary objective of fostering the comprehensive, organic, and continuous development of surfing throughout the Americas. By bringing together athletes from diverse nations and disciplines, the event promotes camaraderie, sportsmanship, and elevates the competitive level of surfing in the region. Furthermore, this festival will serve as a crucial preparatory event for the XII Central American Sports Games, which will also be hosted on the waves of El Rosario this coming October, solidifying Guatemala as a continental surfing epicenter in 2025.

Beyond the sporting competition, the PASA Games Guatemala 2025 Pan American Surf Festival will generate a significant positive economic impact in the Santa Rosa region and at a national level. The arrival of delegations, technical teams, families, fans, and media will boost the local economy through consumption in hotels, restaurants, transportation, businesses, and tourism services. Events of this magnitude have the capacity to position Guatemala as a premier sports tourism destination, attracting visitors seeking authentic experiences and the natural beauty of its coasts.

Surfing has proven to be a powerful tool for attracting global tourism, and several countries in the region are successful examples of this strategy. El Salvador, for instance, has gained international recognition for its world-class waves, such as those at Punta Roca, attracting surfers from around the globe and generating a constant flow of tourism revenue. Costa Rica, with its diverse coasts and waves for all levels, has consolidated a robust tourism industry based on surfing and nature. Similarly, Panama has capitalized on its surfing potential in areas like Bocas del Toro and Santa Catalina, diversifying its tourism offerings and attracting a specific high-value audience.

With the hosting of this prestigious event, Guatemala has the opportunity to follow these examples, showcasing to the world the exceptional conditions of Playa Rosario for surfing and the warmth of its people, laying the foundation for a prosperous future in sports tourism.
