All set for the Longboard Finals at the 2024 PASG

The seventh day of competition at the 2024 PASA Pan American Surfing Games saw action in the Longboard and Shortboard categories for both men and women.

The schedule had to be modified due to sea conditions, which forced the semi-finals and finals of the Men’s Longboard to be moved to tomorrow tentatively.

The semi-finals of this category were defined early in the day, made up of Benoit Clemente from Peru, Daniel Batista from Brazil and Lucas Garrido-Lecca from Peru, and the second semi-final has José Manuel Boza and Rafaél Cortéz, both from Chile, and Julian Schweizer from Uruguay.

The best score in this category was obtained by Benoit Clemente, with a total score of 14.53.

The Men’s Shortboard category then had its first participation in the event, where the standout of the first round was two-time world champion Leandro Usuna from Argentina with 16.40 points.

In the women’s Longboard category, the semi finals were also defined, with the first semifinal with Lia Díaz from Costa Rica, the Brazilians Luana Soares and Atalanta Batista and Evelyn Gontier from Argentina. The second semifinal has Agostina Pellizari from Argentina, Jazmine Dean from Puerto Rico, Coral Bonilla from Mexico and Margarita Conde from Colombia.

The best female Longboarder of the day was Margarita Conde, with an impressive combination of 16.34 points.

To close the day, the Men’s Shortboard Repechage 1 was completed, where the athletes who finished third and fourth in Round 1 had a second chance to continue in the event. The best in this round was Alex Suarez from Ecuador, with a total combination of 14.94 points.

Leaders in the Team Ranking

With only two days of the event, Brazil is at the top of the ranking with 17965 points, in second place is Peru with 15781 points, third is Argentina, with 14814 points and in fourth place is Chile, with 13451 points.

The 17th edition of the PASA Surf Games will be held from October 4 to 13 at the High Performance Surf Center in Punta Rocas, Lima, Peru, sponsored by Equans, Marca Perú, Floril, Generade and 360 Energy Drink, and with the support of the Peruvian Sports Institute, the National Surf Federation of Peru, Proyecto Legado and the Municipality of Punta Negra.
