The 5th day of competition at the Pan American Surfing Games in Punta Rocas delivered thrilling performances.
The standout moment came with Brazil’s Maylla Venturin claiming the PASA Pan American Women’s Bodyboard Gold Medal, earning 13.00 points in a victory over teammate Maira Viana, who secured the Silver Medal with 10.44 points.
Colombia’s Beatriz Arleo took home the Bronze with 7.63 points, while Luz Marie Grande from Puerto Rico won the Copper Medal with 2.16 points.
The Women’s Shortboard event kicked off with an impressive performance by Peru’s Catalina Zariquiey, who scored the highest of the day with 16.04 points.
Repechage rounds took place for both Women’s and Men’s Longboard, with several surfers being eliminated. In Women’s Longboard, the standout was Sindy Portillo from El Salvador, scoring 8.00 points. In Men’s Longboard, Puerto Rico’s Rio Donaldson led with 12.44 points.
Competition resumes tomorrow at 8 a.m. Lima local time, where the SUP Surf divisions will crown their PASA Champions.

The 17th edition of the PASA Surf Games will be held from October 4 to 13 at the High Performance Surf Center in Punta Rocas, Lima, Peru, sponsored by Equans, Marca Perú, Floril, Generade and 360 Energy Drink, and with the support of the Peruvian Sports Institute, the National Surf Federation of Peru, Proyecto Legado and the Municipality of Punta Negra.
