Panama emerged as the big winner of the surfing competition at the Guatemala 2025 Central American Games, securing five gold medals. El Salvador, Guatemala, and Nicaragua also earned gold for their delegations.
The surfing event had one clear dominant force: Panama. The Panamanian team ruled the SUP Race and Bodyboard categories in both men’s and women’s divisions, and also climbed to the top of the podium in men’s Longboard.
Panama’s absolute dominance was led by its gold medalists: bodyboarder Edwin Núñez, Agustín Cedeño in men’s Longboard, Verónica Correa in women’s Bodyboard, and SUP Race specialists Edonays Caballero and Stephanie Bodden, who completed Panama’s impressive gold medal haul.

Núñez reaffirmed his mastery of the El Rosario wave, repeating the victory he achieved three months earlier at the Pan American Surf Association (PASA) Pan American Surfing Games.
In the Shortboard events, gold went to Salvadoran Bryan Pérez and Nicaraguan Candelaria Resano. The local Guatemalan delegation celebrated Alejandra Zaid’s victory in women’s Longboard.
